Do you think the media has a right to deem celebrities as "Role Models" without their consent?

Throughout the history of pop culture, there are always a few celebrities that stand out above the rest. These shining stars, especially when they start young, are framed as role models for their younger fans. But, more often than not, these stars will go through a rough time or a rebellious streak, and be shamed for their actions and mistakes because they have younger people 'looking up' to them.

Do you think that the media has any right to chastise these "Role Models" even if they never wanted to be looked up to like that in the first place?

  1. I think celebrities are role models because no matter what people will look up to them.

  2. In my opinion, celebrities should go into the industry of fame fully aware that no matter what they do, there will be people who look up to them. They should be cautious of their actions and know that whatever they do, people WILL find out about it.

  3. I think celebrities put them selves in that place- they know millions of eyes would see them and aspire from them. I personally wish the term "role model" was never introduced into the entertainment industry because that's all they are, entertainers. They are here to entertain us, not to set a model for our youth.

  4. I think that once someone becomes famous that they have to know that at least some people look up to them. It is the industry they are in everyone looks up to celebrities as role models especially little kids.
